"Families Belong Together" March and Protest in Nogales, Arizona, 11 AM, June 30, historic Courthouse, corner of Morley Ave. and Court St.
We will gather in a shady park up the hill on Court St., across from the Courthouse. Speakers include Raul Grijalva, John Fife, and others. We are protesting the incarceration of families, and the criminalization of asylum seekers at the US/Mexico border. We will walk to the DeConcini Port of Entry after speeches and music. Bring your signs, your voices, your sunscreen, your hats, your water. Musical instruments and street theater welcome.
June 29, 4-6 PM there will be a gathering of "Soulful Preparation," at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, 15 County Line Rd, Amado, AZ 85645. Matthew Crary will lead a discussion about why we are exercising our First Amendment Rights on June 30. Music and poster-making will follow as we prepare to march to the border.
