Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Sahuarita, AZ The theme for this year's Common Ground is: "From Border to Belonging: A celebration of commitment, compassion, and community across the US/Mexico borderlands."
Join us for this long-time annual event. Our educational and celebratory gathering brings together local humanitarian groups and participants from all over the country. You can donate or pay at the door for the events that are still available. Thursday, January 16, 2025 7:00pm - David Damien Figueroa's Two documentary films, "Shura" and "They Call Me the Cross Man." Warning Map (at the left)It takes about three days to walk from border in Nogales, Sonora, to Green Valley. The map shows the approximate area where the Green Valley-Sahuarita Samaritans work. The Warning Map is distributed in Mexico warning northbound travelers of the dangerous trek through Arizona. The red dots show where people have died and their remains recovered. Thousands of migrants have died in recent decades.
