Complaint Filed: The End Operation Streamline Coalition sent a complaint to the Department of Homeland Security Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties on February 14, 2017. A copy also went to DHS's Inspector General.
"Over the past two years, the End Streamline Coalition has documented 64 cases of defendants in Operation Streamline requesting asylum or expressing a fear of return to their home country. These defendants are in criminal proceedings without having received a prior reasonable fear interview." The End Operation Streamline Coalition believes this is a violation of U.S treaty obligations, U.S law, and Customs and Border Protection policy and urges the agency to investigate these violations.
